There have been plenty o rumors before and we covered some of them, but now we get to confirm some specs. SM-G9298, is indeed a clamshell smartphone. From the manual we can confirm the two screens, though their specs aren’t mentioned. From previous rumors we know they are 4.2-inch Full HD AMOLED.
The manual confirms the multiple connectivity types: 4G LTE, Bluetooth, HFC and WiFi. Folder 3 features wireless charging, Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it features Samsung Knox, Samsung Pay, the main camera support HDR and we’ll also find a fingerprint scanner.
The phone offers dual-SIM support and has a microSD slot, but the tray is hybrid, so if you insert a memory card you lose the dual-SIM feature.
One last important aspect that appears in the user manual is the fact that SM-G9298 is certified by FCC (Federal Communications Commission), which means it can be sold in the US as well, but that is unlikely to happen. As the user manual is written in Chinese (we used the Google Translate app to read it) its pretty clear China is the main destination for this phone as it was for its predecessors.
Unfortunately the manual lacks the info about the processor, RAM, internal storage or camera sensors, but from previous rumors we get that it will feature either Snapdragon 820 or 821, 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The main camera has a 12 MP sensor, will the secondary camera has a 5 MP sensor.
There are no information about the release date, but we can bet that is going to happen soon since they uploaded the user manual already and until we published this article, they haven’t taken it out of the website.
