Eastern part of India is highly dependent on rice as their staple food. People are habituated with eating rice one of twice in a day. Lunch and dinner are mostly rice oriented along with other dishes.

As rice can’t be eaten alone so it needs side dish of vegetables or fish or meat. In a research it is found that people who eat rice also eat vegetables that are rich in fiber and fish or meat that have high level of protein in it. it is more important to know exactly what to eat with rice that can balance your level of carbohydrate with other nutritional values. But still nutritionist recommend to lower the intake of steamed rice as lower carbohydrate diet will help in weight loss. Cutting of most grains like white rice and no brown rice will help in maintaining a fit and balanced health.
