Phillauri Review: Nothing is more haunting than marrying a ghost and in this movie; Kanan (Suraj Sharma) marries Shashi (Anushka Sharma) who is a ghost. Though, he is not at all bothered by her past memories of her previous relationship, as he is from another era.
In the movie, Kanan (Suraj Sharma) marries a tree, in order to ward off the bad luck but it is resting place of Shashi, who lived and loved around hundred years ago.
So, after this accidental marriage, the ghost of Shashi (Anushka Sharma) sticks around and becomes and an agony aunt for him. She is actually a ghost from another era around hundred years ago, Shashi is lingering around coz she had some unfinished business left, so Kanan must take care of her unfinished business.
Conceptual meaning of Phillauri is winner and this one liner has created a solid romantic movie of more than 2 hours. The weird transition from happiness, laughter and sad of Shashi the Ghost is quite a task. One more thing is that you got to see only what you saw in trailer, nothing more than that and thankfully nothing less too.
Diljit Dosanjh brings his goodness and talented ability to the bland role and Anushka brings out a solid performance again as proves her metal.
Overall, it seems that Phillauri can be more innovative and script could be more engaging but it seems it took the old path and followed it.
