2017, India is celebrating its 68th Republic Day(Gantantra Divas). First Republic Day of India was celebrated in 1950. It is celebrated every year with splendour on 26th of January to respect the Constitution of India as it was sketched and approved by the Indian Constituent Assembly in the year 1950. On this day, parade starts from Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, this parade is passed along the Rajpath, past India Gate. Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial at India Gate are wreath by the Prime Minster of India and P.M. also gives a speech on the 26th January.
Chief guest of this year’s Republic Day is Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi “Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan”.
Events are organized with great efforts by the Indian Government and the State Governments to celebrate the Republic Day in the Capital. A huge and grand military parade is held in the New Delhi at Rajpath as well as the state capitals. Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and traditional dance groups takes part in the parade.
