Getting someone to text you first is not the same as getting someone to approach you at a bar. You can’t make googly eyes at them or smile subtly. You have to have a lot of patience and take a risk.
1. When you do her chores. She needs to hang out her laundry or clean up the dishes piled in her sink. You can surprise her by doing some of her chores. No, you don’t need to become a maid, but every once in a while surprise her by doing the dishes or vacuuming because these are the small gestures girls always notice and appreciate.
1. When you show affection. She may love PDA while you may not be too big of a fan. Though you don’t need to stick your tongue down her throat every minute of the day, you can hold her hand unexpectedly, give her a kiss while you’re walking down the street or when having dinner.
1. When you surprise her with breakfast. She’s used to getting up and making herself breakfast, but you woke up a little earlier to have it fully prepared for her to enjoy. If you really want to up the romance then give her breakfast in bed. It’s a small gesture that will take you a long way.
When you have a horrible fight though, it can be difficult to recover from it. But if you know this is someone you want to be with, then calling it quits probably isn’t the right decision. Horrible fights happen too. And though they’re draining and can be especially hard on your relationship, you can move past them.
If you’re unsure of how you’re feeling, here are seven common signs you’re falling out of love that may shed some light on where you are in your relationship.
Anxiety about a relationship can rear its head in many ways, including always being concerned with monitoring your partner’s phone, habitually checking their email and social media accounts, regularly checking in to know where they are and what they’re doing, feeling the need to test your partner in order to make them prove their love to you, or constantly jumping to conclusions and accusing them of wrong doing.
It’s not always easy to get a guy to open up. Many guys guard their emotions more closely than girls. But when they do share, you get to see a whole new side of them you’ve never seen before. One of the easiest ways to get to know someone is by asking them questions. Once you’ve covered the basics through small talk, you can dive deeper and ask more personal questions.
Lower your expectations, just a little bit.
This doesn’t mean that you should lower your general expectations of him as a decent partner—it means that you should lower them when it comes to emotional matters. As your boyfriend, he should be there for you regardless of the issue. But if he’s short with words or doesn’t talk about his feelings much, you need to realize this may be a part of who he is. This is a key part of his personality that’s hard to change. It might get easier when the two of you put more mileage into the relationship, but it’ll never come naturally to him. If that’s a dealbreaker for you, that’s okay. But, expecting things to be different or trying to get him to change will end up leaving you more hurt than ever.
Even though it’s the preferred method of communication these days, texting can be pretty nerve-wracking. Sure, it’s an easy way to communicate with people, but because there’s no strict set of rules or agreed upon etiquette it’s often hard to get right.
