Mountain can be defined as a group or chain of mountains that are close together. They are nature’s own defense mechanisms. So many mountain ranges are there in the world and some have a magnificent view, when they are covered in snow and sunrays glisten through the white snow capped mountains, it is a spectacular view. In this article, we are featuring some of the most famous mountain ranges of the world.

So here we discuss some of the Earth’s highest, longest, and most famous ranges of the world:

  1. LIZARD RANGE

 It is a mountain range south-east of Fernie, British Columbia in the Canadian Rockies. And it reaches elevations of up to 2,360 meters (7,740 ft). The view of this mountain range is breathtaking.

  1. THE DOLOMITES RANGE

It is a mountain range located in north-eastern Italy, the mountains are formed of light-coloured dolomite limestone. You can see a eye catching  lush green meadows along with a coloured limestone.

 It is the longest continental mountain range in the world. And its range is about 7,000 km (4,300 mi) long, about 200 km (120 mi) to 700 km (430 mi) wide (widest between 18° south and 20° south latitude), and of an average height of about 4,000 m (13,000 ft). It is the most spectacular range in the world and also the longest range.

  1. CHUGACH MOUNTAIN RANGE

The highest point of the Chugach Mountains is Mount Marcus Baker, at 12,884 feet (3,927 m). And it is the northernmost of the several mountain ranges , that make up the Pacific Coast Ranges of the western edge of North America.

The Himalaya range is the most holy and an abode of the Gods. This mountain range consisting of around hundred hillocks is twenty four thousand ft in length.
